Security Bans Circumcision Dances (Kadodi) in Mbale City Center

Security in Mbale city has banned the dancing of Kadodi (Circumcision dance) in the city center as a way of reducing crimes committed by dancers.

 

This was revealed by Asumin Nasike, the Mbale Resident City Commissioner on Thursday, 5th December, 2024 while addressing the Media at her office.

 

According to Nasike, the ban follows the increasing number of cases like of theft, rape and violence in the city center orchestrated by the Imbalu dancers.

 

She says that last week, kadodi dancers grabbed a mobile of UPDF solider in the City center and went with his Shs300,000.

 

Asumin warned that since the ban has been announced, anybody who will be found dancing Kadodi in the city center will be arrested.

 

SP Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson has urged the public to abide by the directive such that they don’t confront security.

 

Wilson Watira, the chairperson of ‘’Imbalu’’ circumcision at Inzu Yamasaba has welcomed the directive saying people should know that the city center is business center meaning they shoudn’t go and dance Kadodi from there.

 

This week, Inzu Yamasaba banned Kadodi dancers from dancing with sharp objects.
