BREAKING! Uganda’s Cheptoyek Wins Gold at Tokyo 10km Space Race

Uganda’s Joy Cheptoyek has today Saturday, 3rd May, 2025 won the Tokyo 10km Space Race in a superb 30:22 minutes run.

 

Cheptoyek was followed by Noor Hassan Samiyah and in 3rd place was Isobel Batt Doel.

 

In fourth place was Uganda’s Rebecca Chelangat who posted 30.59 minutes and another Ugandan, Annete Chelangat came seventh with 31.03 minutes.

 

This was revealed by Uganda Athletics Federation in an X-Message reading, “Congratulations to Joy Cheptoyek for winning the Tokyo 10km Space Race in a superb 30:22. Huge thanks to Rebecca Chelangat and Annet Chelangat for their strong performances, finishing 4th and 7th respectively. A proud day for all, well done.”

 

The Tokyo Marathon is the most prestigious running race in Asia and part of the Abbott World Marathon Majors.
