KIBUKU
A fatal road accident that occurred this morning 1st October, 2025 has claimed two precious lives in Kibuku district.
The deceased were identified as Mwesigwa Alutugume, 3 years of age, resident of Nampiido village and Arafat Kigenyi aged 37 years and resident of Saala village, Nakisenye Sub County in Kibuku district.
According to Wilfred Kyampasa, the Bukedi North region police spokesperson, the accident involved motor vehicle Reg No: UAS 980N Toyota land cruiser black in colour and being driven by one Eriya Musosi who was coming from Mbale side heading to Kampala.
He adds that upon reaching Saala, a child abruptly entered the road while running, and in the process of saving her, the driver lost control and hit two pedestrians who died on the spot as the vehicle overturned.
Kyampasa says the scene was visited by No 27297 HC Moses Eriebu where the sketch plan drawn. The two bodies were taken to their homes pending postmortem.
The Motor vehicle is parked at Tirinyi police station pending IOV inspection.
