Centenary Bank Mbale branch has donated two liter water tanks to St’ Charles Lwanga Buwalu Catholic Church in Buwali, Bududa district.
During the handover ceremony, on Saturday, 28th November, 2025, Annet Nandelenga, the manager of Centenary Bank’s Mbale branch, stated that the donation is part of the bank’s “giving back to the community” initiative and its Environmental Sustainability and Governance (ESG) program. She explained that the tanks will enable the church and community to harvest storm-water for use during the dry season.
Nandelenga added that Centenary Bank’s ESG program aims to restore the environment and prevent wetland encroachment.
Patrick Obo, the parish priest of St Charles Lwanga Buwalu Catholic Church, expressed gratitude for the donation, saying it will greatly benefit the community and church, which previously had to travel over 2 kilometers to access water.
