A notorious fraudster who has been masquerading as a UPDF Maj Gen attached to Office of the President has been arrested and arraigned before court.
Ssekidde Lubowa Godfrey a.k.a Maj Gen Sam Kiwanuka was arraigned before the Anti-Corruption Court on Thursday, 8th January, 2026 and remanded until 21st January, 2026.
According to the State House Anti-Corruption Unit that carried out the investigations, Lubowa was charged with offences related to Obtaining Money by False Pretences, Forgery and Personation.
The accused allegedly obtained over USD 197,570 from an investor by falsely pretending that it was required as fees for awarding him a contract for the supply of hand hoes and mosquito nets to the Government of Uganda.
Investigations further revealed that Ssekidde has defrauded several other investors of billions of shillings while also personating as a Maj Gen attached to Office of the President.
