Court at Buganda Road presided over by Her worship Ritah Neumbe Kidasa, on February 3,2026, remanded embattled City Lawyer- Hassan Male Mabirizi to Luzira prisons till February 18,2026, over allegations of hate speech and spreading malicious information via his TikTok account.

Beleaguered Mabirizi is accused of spreading malicious information against the newly appointed Chief Justice Dr. Flavian Zeija and Justice Musa Ssekaana of the Court of Appeal.

Prosecution Lawyers led by Richard Birivumbuka and Joan Keko, told Court that in January 2026, while using his computer via TikTok, Mabirizi sent, shared, or transmitted false information about the Chief Justice in Kampala, Wakiso, and other areas of Uganda.

Prosecution Lawyers assert that while using his TikTok account , Mabirizi allegedly described Chief Justice Zeija as a “conman,” “fraudster,” “corrupt,” and accused him of selling property to pay a bribe for his appointment as Principal Judge, the claims which prosecutors argue are false, likely to ridicule, degrade, or demean the new Chief Justice.

In the same vein, Mabirizi is also accused of making similar false statements on Justice Musa Ssekaana, labeling him a “conman” and “fraudster,” something prosecution strongly believe could demean the innocent judge.

While in the court dock, Mabirizi denied all the allegations imposed against him and was consequently remanded to Luzira Prisons to enjoy free accommodation facilities plus free meals until February 18, 2026, when he returns to court for mention of his cases.
