A woman who had concubined a man in her home has caused a fracas leading to critical injury of one after abandoning a body of her concubine to elope with another man.
According to Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson, Suzan concubined a man only identified as Sam in her late father Nandala Yokowakim’s home.
He says the couple lived together for the last five years until about three weeks ago when Sam died and Suzan decided to lock the body in the house and went to elope with another man.
He says the relatives of Sam started looking for him until they got to know that their relative passed on and the body was inside the house where he had been living with Suzan.
Madese Wilson, one Suzan’s neighbors said that relatives of the deceased suspected that Suzan killed Sam and locked him inside the house. Angered, they started destroying houses, Banana plantations and coffee prompting police intervention.
During the confrontation between police and the angry mob, police started shooting to disperse the crowd eventually shooting one who is currently admitted at Muyembe Health Centre IV in critical condition.
This occurred on Friday, 20th February, 2026 near Buginyanya primary school in Bulambuli district.
