A Traditional Healer is on the run while his accomplices have been arrested after they dumped a body of a woman he had unsuccessfully treated at his shrine located at Bwanga Kisenyi Village, Nsanja Parish, Ntenjeru Sub County, in Mukono District.

According to SP Rachael Kawala, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, the suspect identified as Zabasajja Moses (traditional healer at run) administered some local herbs on the deceased, Nakaleya Maayi who went to his shrine for treatment on 27th February, 2026.

However, on 28 day of February 2026 at about 7:00AM, Nakaleya passed on. Zabasajja, Male Fred and Kalebi Meddie took the body and abandoned it at Cape medical center where they brought the deceased pretending to be alive.

After abandoning the body, they decided to run but were intercepted by the security guard of the clinic as one Zabasajja drove off to an unknown place, leaving behind his wife, son and a boda boda rider who had helped them to carry the body to the clinic.

Currently, Police in Mukono are holding the three suspects in connection with the death of Nakaleya. They are; Nakintu Stella, 40, wife of the traditional healer; Male Fred, 35, a boda boda rider; and Kalebu Meddie, 19, son of the traditional healer.

Kawala says Zabasajja escaped in his car while the three suspects were arrested. The body has been taken to Mulago City Mortuary for postmortem, and investigations are ongoing.
