66 P7 Pupils with their parents at Kiira Primary School in Jinja City have been left in dilemma after revelation that their results for last 2025 PLE were canceled by Uganda National Examinations Board over cheating.
This was revealed on Thursday 5th March 2026 after District Education Officer, Paul Barilaine Mugajju informed parents that the affected candidates will have to repeat Primary Seven.
Mr. Baliraine who spoke to this publication revealed that despite efforts to resolve the matter, the decision by the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) to cancel the 2025 examination results remained in force.
During an urgent meeting at the school premises on Thursday, 5th March, 2026, Jinja City Education Officials urged the parents to enroll their children back in school to prepare for the fourth coming PLE this year.
According to the UNEB Act, the Examinations Board has the mandate to cancel an examination if it is proven that there was malpractice.
Rose Nakisige, the Headteacher Kiira Primary School earlier said that only one candidate’s results had been released out of the 67 pupils.
Jinja City registered 6049 candidates for PLE last year, and 816 passed in Division one,3269 in Division two,929 in division three,535in division four, 434 ungraded and 67 absent.
A section of parents that spoke to this publication decried the emotional stress and disturbance caused by UNEB’s decision saying it has disrupted their children’s education plan.
