Mbale City Authorities Hand Over Bus Park Booking Offices to Park Leaders

Mbale City Authorities on Saturday, 7th March, 2026 officially handed over the management of the booking offices at Mbale Bus Park to the recognized Bus Park leaders in a move aimed at strengthening order and accountability within the city’s transport sector.

 

The handover ceremony held at the Bus Park premises, was presided over by Industrial City Division Town Clerk, Geoffrey Mugisha who emphasized the importance of cooperation between city authorities and transport stakeholders.

 

He tasked the newly recognized leaders with ensuring proper management of the offices, maintaining high sanitation standards and promoting discipline among drivers and conductors operating in the park.

 

According to Mbale City Council officials the decision forms part of the broader Trade Order Management initiative aimed at streamlining operations, reducing congestion and improving service delivery within the city.

 

Authorities urged the Bus Park leadership to uphold transparency and work closely with enforcement teams to prevent misuse of the facilities.

 

The Bus Park leaders led by Edward Watero, welcomed the development and pledged to manage the offices responsibly while supporting the city’s efforts to organize the transport system.

 

Watero also called upon all bus drivers to cooperate with the council to ensure sanity and order prevail at the Bus Park.
