The Uganda Police Force has licensed 12 Companies as Gun Dealers for the physical year 2026.
Under the Uganda Firearms Act (Cap 299), gun dealers are heavily regulated, authorized to buy, sell, or repair firearms and ammunition only at registered, secured premises approved by licensing officers. They must maintain strict records of transactions, allowing police inspection, and ensure secure storage with specific, restricted access to prevent illegal possession.
In a public statement dated Monday, March 9, 2026, the Inspector General of Police lists the 12 companies as; Stryker located at Parliamentary Avenue, Spc Protectorate in Munyonyo, Global Paper Range in Nakawa, Magnum Security in Bugoloobi and Luwero Industries in Nakasongola.
Others are; Cyclops Defense Systems in Kololo, Saracen U Ltd in Kabalagala, Blue Whale Security in Ntinda, Tight Security in Kamwokya, Great Blue Heron in Ntinda, Image Group U Ltd in Kololo and China Uganda Exchange Club in Nakaseke.
The list includes the 191 licensed Private Security Organizations that has TAN International Security Company with its headquarters in Mbale City.
