Three senior administrators of Iganga Technical Institute have been arraigned before the Anti-Corruption Court on charges of abuse of office, embezzlement, and forgery.
The trio that appeared before court on Thursday, 26th March, 2026 are Eliachu David, Principal, Wabwire Benedict – Deputy Principal and Ajuna Damali – Senior Accounts Assistant/Bursar.
According to the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, the trio between 2024 and 2025, while using their positions, bypassed proper procurement procedures for unlawful gain by orchestrating a fraudulent scheme that led to the loss of Shs983,480,000 from the government institute.
They reportedly authorized payments to Basaam General Merchandise and Supplies Ltd under the false pretense that the company had supplied food items to the institute, whereas this was not the case.
Investigations further established that no such supplies were ever delivered, and the company itself confirmed that it had not engaged in any transactions involving the delivery of food items to the institute.
