Mbale District to Appoint New H/M for Bumageni Army Barracks P/S

Following the interdiction of former head teacher Samuel Wamimbi, Bumageni Army Barracks Primary School is set to get a new head teacher with an army background.

Wamimbi was interdicted after being arrested for allegedly collecting illegal fees, defying the president’s directive on free education.

RDC Stanley Bayole says authorities are going to appoint a head teacher with an army background to ensure compliance with government policies.

Bumageni is a UPDF-established school, and Bayole questions why a civilian was appointed as head teacher in the first place.

Bayole notes that the President directed all UPE/USE schools to stop collecting fees, ensuring 100% free education for Ugandan children. He wonders why Wambi, a civilian, defied the directive, and says it’s unlikely an army officer would do the same.
