UNEB has cancelled the 2025 primary seven exams of 26 pupils who sat Wambwa Primary School located at Malukhu, in Industrial City division citing malpractice. The decision follows identical answers on the candidates’ sheets, prompting suspicion of cheating.
This was revealed by Jimmy Nambilo, Education Desk Officer at State House and private secretary to President Museveni while lamenting on increased exam malpractices in region during a meeting with Mbale District head teachers and officials last week.
Mbale District CAO, Angella Akurut expressed regret over the incident saying the pupils are now required to repeat the exams.
Mbale Resident District Commissioner, Stanley Bayole while speaking to our reporter on Saturday suggests UNEB should punish supervisors and school leaders involved in exam cheating, rather than penalizing innocent candidates and parents.
He says they’re often the ones who suffer the consequences.
Last week UNEB confirmed that 230 Pupils are to repeat PLE in Two Mbale City Schools over exam malpractices St. Joseph Primary School in Musoto and Bumuluya Primary School in Lwaso, Industrial city division. Wambwa Primary School becomes the third City school to be affected.
