Uganda Assures Steady Fuel Supply

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development together with Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) have issued an updated statement regarding the availability of fuel stocks in the country.

 

The statement issued on Monday, 30th March, 2026 says that also the Middle East crisis has closed the Straits of Hormuz affecting 20% oil passage, the country still has stocks to last till about end of April, 2026.

 

“As of 27th March, 2026, Uganda’s fuel stock levels and the inland supply chain remained stable and sufficient to meet the mid-term demands,” reads the statement in part.

 

The Ministry says the country has 81M litres of petrol, 80M litres of diesel and 18.5M litres of Jet A-1 oil translating into 22, 23 and 30 days stock cover respectively.

 

Additionally, the Ministry is scheduled to receive confirmed vessel deliveries from the end of March into April through the Port of Mombasa with quantities of petroleum products destine to Uganda.
