KAMPALA
Police has identified a man who today, Thursday, April 2, 2026 walked into Ggaba Early Childhood Development Program School and stabbed four infants to death.
According to the IGP, Abbas Byakagaba, the suspect already under police custody is Okello Christopher Onyu whom police managed to rescue from an irate mob yearning to lynch him.
Shortly after the horrendous killings, security personnel clashed with residents of Ggaba, a Kampala suburb, after they attempted to lynch the suspected assailant.
SP Rachael Kawala, the KMP Police Spokesperson also confirms the incident saying, “We confirm a tragic incident at the Ggaba Early Childhood Development Program school, in Makindye Division Kampala City where a male suspect brutally stabbed and killed four juveniles.
The suspect has been apprehended, and the motive behind the killings is still under investigation. Further details will be provided in due course.”
