The Ministry of Local Government has directed all Resident District Commissioners and Parish Development Model District Focal Persons to organize election of SACCO leaders.
This was revealed by the Deputy Resident District Commissioner for Butaleja, Betty Lutamaguzi Kalumba, while speaking to our reporter at her office on Thursday, 9th April, 2026.
She says plans to replace all the Parish Development Model Sacco leaders across the country, is aimed at muting the corruption practices that are believed to have frustrated the government program.
Betty Kalumba, said that the decision was made by the Ministry of Local Government, directing the beneficiaries to elect their new leaders starting Monday, April, 13th 2026.
She also asked beneficiaries to prepare to refund the received money to the treasury because it is a revolving Fund that must benefit more applicants.
Kalumba, also said that Parish Development Model Money is strictly for the poor encouraging those who have some wealth to enroll for EMYOOGA.
Apparently, many people who initially got the PDM cash used it for luxury-thinking that it was a token of appreciation from President Museveni, for the support they allegedly accorded him.
