FULL LIST! IGG Orders 22 Jinja City Officials to Refund Misappropriated Shs33M

JINJA CITY

The Inspectorate of Government has directed 22 Jinja City officials to refund Shs33, 075,000 they allegedly misappropriated during the course of their duties.

According to an IGG statement issued today, Monday, April 13, 2026, the 22 officials requisitioned for the funds but never carried out the intended activities.

“During investigations the affected officials agreed to refund the money. Details show that although the affected officials requested the money to carry out activities, there was no evidence that such activities were carried out,” reads the letter in part.

The IGG warns that any official who fails to refund the money shall be prosecuted.

Below is the list of the affected officials and corresponding amount of money.

2. Christopher Baliraine, Senior Assistant Town Clerk, South Division – 4,450,000
3. Richard Kirya, Councillor South Division – 1,040,000
4. Agnes Auma, Councillor South Division – 1,040,000
5. Grace Apio Julu, Councillor South Division – 1,040,000
6. Rogers Anjoga, Councillor South Division – 1,040,000
7. Ali Ndaza, Councillor South Division – 1,040,000
8. Innocent Ochimwa Otinga, Councillor South Division – 1,040,000
9. Bernard Kintu, Senior Internal Auditor – 660,000
10. Angella Baligeya, Senior Community Development Officer, Southern Division – 645,000
11. Phoebe Monica Kwagala, Probation and Social Welfare Officer, Southern Division – 3,840,000
12. Musa Waiswa, Accountant Southern Division – 1,500,000
13. Monica Kisakye, Office Attendant, Southern Division – 400,000
14. Prossie Nanangwe, Senior Assistant Accountant, Southern Division – 3,075,000
