The Anti-Corruption Court sitting in Kampala has today, Tuesday, July 7, 2026 further remanded seven senior officials of Parliament prolonging their possible access to bail.
The seven who were arrested last week will have to endure prison environment until July 27th when they will reappear for mention of their case and bail hearing.
Anti-Corruption Magistrates Court adjourned the case against Chris Obore and co-accused to 27 July 2026 after Prosecutors informed court that investigations are in advanced stages.
Obore and co-accused are facing charges of embezzlement, money laundering and causing financial loss amounting to more than Shs 37 billion.
They include Parliament’s director of communications and public affairs, Chris Obore Ariko – accused of embezzling Shs 5.253 billion.
Daniel Adilo, Parliament director of human resource – accused of embezzling Shs 14.609 billion.
Leonard Okema, executive secretary in the Office of the Speaker – accused of embezzling Shs 3.489 billion.
Rajab Kaaya Ssemalulu, principal research officer – Shs 2.170 billion.
Emmanuel Emuron Okwi, principal protocol officer – Shs 1.105 billion.
Vincent Otebata, capacity development officer – Shs 5.253 billion.
