Angry Mob Kills One over Rampant Shop Break-Ins

Police in Pallisa District are investigating a case of murder by mob that occurred in Nabitende-Kagoli Trading Center, Kamuge Sub-county.

 

According to Bukedi North Region Police Spokesperson, ASP Wilfred Kyempasa, the incident happened during the night of 17th to 18th July 2026.

 

He says there was a series of shop break-ins and thefts in the trading center. An unidentified mob pursued the suspected thieves and caught one of them, who was later beaten to death.

 

Kyempasa identified the deceased as Omoding Nola, son of Ogiti, a resident of Kagoli Central Village in Kamuge Sub-county.

 

The matter was reported to Kamuge Police Station by IP Ochamuna Elia Frederick, who responded to the scene together with his team. It was registered vide SD 02/18/07/2026 under PAL CRB 315/2026.

 

The District CID Officer, Pallisa, also responded with a team of detectives, SOCO officers, and a K9 unit to process the crime scene. No arrests have been made so far, and inquiries are ongoing.

 

Police have urged members of the public to refrain from taking the law into their own hands and instead report suspected criminal cases to relevant authorities.
