Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) has dropped Alice Alaso from the position of National Coordinator and replaced her with Hon. Kassiano Wadri.
The development was confirmed by ANT with a simple message on X saying, “We are pleased to announce the appointment of Hon. Kassiano Wadri as the Party’s National Coordinator. We congratulate Hon. Wadri on this important responsibility and wish him success as he leads the team in transforming the political culture of our Country Uganda.”
Similarly the Party’s founder and President General Mugisha Muntu confirmed the changes on his X-handle today, Wednesday, July 22, 2026
“Hon. Kassiano wadri brings with him a lifetime of service and commitment to the nation that will no doubt spur the party forward in the right direction,” writes Muntu.
He also thanks Alaso Asianut for what he calls, “her steadfast leadership,” adding that under her, ANT was able to get its first MP, and increased the Party’s local government footprint and strengthened party structures.
Muntu insists that change of political leadership should never be an acrimonious undertaking arguing that the only way for us to achieve this as a nation, is to practice it in our politics.
“From the grassroots, up. We must develop a culture that puts the country first and the good of our people before personal ambition,” says Muntu.
Muntu adds that ANT is developing that culture of change, demonstrating that, “If we choose to, we as a nation can defy the politics of our past and build a Uganda that works for all of us.”
Meanwhile, Hon. Ismail Kasule, Member of Parliament for Hoima West, has been appointed the new Spokesperson of the Party, effective immediately.
Alice Alaso was appointed as the Acting National Coordinator for the Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) in July 2020. She officially took over the role after the party’s founder and then-coordinator, Gen. Mugisha Muntu, stepped down to contest as the party’s presidential flag bearer.
