Police in Luuka on Thursday 23rd July,2026 arrested one Mwogeza Teddy (30) a resident of Namalemba village in Bulongo Sub County to aid investigations of the child dumped into a pit latrine.
It’s alleged that Teddy dumped her three months old child into the neighbor’s pit latrine after giving him over dose tablets which caused his death.
Upon observation by the neighbours, it was found out that the child was missing which prompted them to report to the authorities who in turn alerted police for investigation.
Mwogeza was arrested and taken to Kiyunga police station where she revealed that she had killed her baby and dumped him into a pit latrine.
The area councilor Kasolo Nuhu who confirmed the incident also appealed to mothers to stop such acts and also called on men to act responsibly and take care of their children.
Kiyunga police officers visited the scene and the body was recovered from the pit latrine and taken to Kiyunga Health Center mortuary for postmortem as investigations continue.
