Mbale City Police are actively hunting for one of their own for allegedly defiling a 12 year old girl inside the Mbale City Police barracks.
The suspect identified as 58 year old George Imoti, is said to have committed the crime early this week and took to his heels to evade arrest.
Speaking to this reporter on Friday, 24th July, 2026, SP Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region Police Spokesperson, confirmed the incident saying police is hunting for the elderly officer who was remaining with two years to retire.
“Sergeant Imoti is on the run, however, when arrested, he will be charged with aggravated defilement in the courts of law,” says Taitika.
