Former LCV Butaleja Remanded over Obtaining Money by False Pretences

Former LCV Butaleja has been remanded on allegations of obtaining money by false pretences.

 

According to the State House Anti-Corruption Unit that carried out the arrest, Higenyi Michael Bory was arraigned before Chief Magistrate’s Court Butaleja on Wednesday, 19th August, 2026.

 

It is alleged that, between 2021 and January 2026, while serving as Chairperson LCV Butaleja District, Higenyi Michael Bory, during every recruitment exercise obtained money, millions of shillings from several applicants promising to give them jobs under Butaleja district local government, which was not true.

 

He has been remanded until 1st September 2026.
