The Police in Namutumba are investigating a case of suspected murder that occurred on Sunday 23rd August 2026 at around 03:00am, at Kasozi Village, Kisega Parish, Kibaale Sub- County, Namutumba District.
The deceased has been identified as Isiko Nicholas Martin 19, a resident of Nkanja Village.
Preliminary facts indicate that the deceased had attended a disco party organized at the home of one Maganda Peter in Kasozi Village, as part of an introduction ceremony. He was later found dead under circumstances suspected to be murder.
ASP Kasadha Micheal, Busoga East Regional police spokesperson said that following the incident, some members of the community turned violent and attacked the home of Maganda Peter, injuring him and destroying property including television sets, plastic chairs, doors and other household items. Maganda Peter is currently receiving treatment.
A case of suspected murder has been registered at Namutumba CPS under CRB 290/2026.
The body of the deceased was taken to Iganga Hospital for postmortem examination and later handed over to relatives for burial.
Separate cases of attempted murder and malicious damage to property have been opened regarding the retaliatory attack.
Police strongly condemn acts of mob justice and implored members of the public to remain calm and allow police to carry out investigations.
