Annet Musibikha has been declared the Chairperson of the Manafwa District Women Council after being elected unopposed in the district-level women’s council elections.
The Manafwa District Electoral Commission, led by Returning Officer Gilbert Meru, declared Musibikha and three other women as representatives of women at the district level on Tuesday, 25th August, 2026.
According to Meru, all four candidates were unopposed, paving way for their declaration as leaders of the Manafwa District Women Council.
Meru congratulated the newly elected and called upon the leaders to work together and ensure that the concerns of women are effectively represented at the district level.
While speaking after her declaration, Annet Musibikha, pledged to work closely with women at all levels, starting from the village to the district level.
Musibikha said her leadership will focus on uniting women and addressing challenges affecting their livelihoods, with the aim of improving their social and economic well-being.
She called upon women across Manafwa District to work together and support initiatives that promote empowerment, economic independence and improved household incomes.
