JESA Farm Dairy has announced a temporary shortage of its milk products on the Ugandan market, citing reduced production caused by the prolonged dry season.
In a statement issued by management on Sunday, 6th September, 2026, the company said the extended dry spell had affected dairy farming communities, resulting in a decline in milk production and consequently lower supplies to consumers.
“We would like to share an update on the current milk supply. We are experiencing a temporary shortage due to the prolonged dry season, which has affected all dairy farming communities and led to reduced milk production,” the statement reads in part.
The company said the dry conditions had reduced the availability of pasture and water, affecting milk yields from its farm in Busunju and its network of out-grower farmers in central Uganda.
JESA, one of Uganda’s leading dairy brands, produces fresh milk, yoghurt and other dairy products.
Management asked customers for patience and understanding, saying the shortage is temporary.
“We kindly ask for your patience and understanding during this period,” management said.
The company also reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining product quality and serving its customers despite the supply challenges.
“We remain committed to delivering the quality you trust and we thank you for continuously choosing JESA,” the statement added.
The announcement comes amid an extended dry spell reported in several parts of the country, with farmers facing declining crop and livestock productivity.
