IGANGA
Over 20 officials have been arrested and interdicted on Hon. Balaam’s orders in Iganga over alleged corruption, Negligence of duty, Land grabbing and mismanagement of government projects.
They include;
Mr. Bateganya Iddi – Principal Accounting officer, arrested over land-grabbing.
Edith Turyesasira – Iganga Town Clerk, arrested over land grabbing in Iganga Municipality.
Commercial Officer – arrested over embezzlement of PDM funds and extortion of funds from beneficiaries
Kauma Sumaya – Drug Inspector, arrested for giving out expired drugs and sale.
Dr. Misinde Patrick – Pharmacist re-arrested for giving out expired drugs and stealing.
Kisakye Suzan – Principal Human Resource Officer, interdicted and arrested.
Lulya Kafute – Procurement Officer, and chairperson contracts committee interdicted and arrested
Eng. Wilberforce Mbatya – District Engineer, interdicted and arrested.
Iganga District Physical Planner and Municipal Physical Planner interdicted and arrested
Tawaku – District Environmental Officer, interdicted and arrested over encroachment on Walugogo Swamp
District Land Board dissolved, all members interdicted and to be arrested over land-grabbing cases involving Iganga Municipal Council Primary School, Nakavule Primary School, and Nakalama Sub-county. New board to be appointed within one week.
Hamidu Kawanguzi, LCIII Nakalama S/C and DEO Wakabi, the senior secretary Nakalama Sub County are already in court and will reappear on the 14th September, 2026 for alleged land fraud in NakalamaSub-county.
District Service Commission dissolved, all members interdicted and to be arrested over job sale, soliciting bribes among other offences.
Kyimbowa – Boda boda Chairperson arrested over embezzlement of Emyooga funds.
Gabula Ezra- Former LCV Iganga, arrested fir extorting money from job seekers and very many corruption matters.
All persons who obtained jobs or promotions on the basis of being sons or daughters of, or otherwise related to, Dr. Muwanguzi and other senior civil servants are to report to the police and make statements.
