KAMPALA
Police in Nateete are holding a 19-year-old driver, identified as Muwonge Sinan, over the alleged stabbing of a fellow special-hire driver in Central A, Nateete, Lubaga Division, Kampala District.
The deceased has been identified as Thomas Batiibwe Twase, 70, a special-hire driver and resident of Bulaga Zone B, Sumbwe Parish, Wakiso Sub- County, Wakiso District.
SP Kawala Racheal said that according to preliminary information, the incident occurred on Wednesday 30 September 2026 at about 6:30 p.m. in Central A, Nateete.
It is alleged that the suspect found Twase inside a vehicle and stabbed him with a knife. The suspect reportedly fled the scene immediately after the incident but was apprehended by members of the community and handed over to police.
The victim was rushed to Rubaga Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
It has been established that both the deceased and suspect were operating from the same area of Central A, Nateete, Lubaga Division in Kampala district.
The suspect is currently in police custody as investigations continue to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
