The State House Anti-Corruption Unit has arraigned Kaye Andrew Kaggwa before the Goma Grade One Magistrates Court on charges of Criminal Trespass and Malicious Damage to Property. He has been remanded until 17 November 2026.
Prosecution alleges that between 7 and 9 October 2026, at Misindye Village, Goma Sub-County, Mukono District, Kaggwa unlawfully entered onto land comprised in Kyagwe Block 101, Plot 51, which was in the possession of Justice Andrew Khaukha, with intent to annoy him. It is further alleged that, despite being warned about the incident, on 8 October 2026, Kaggwa willfully and unlawfully destroyed two padlocks on a residential house belonging to Nakawungu Janat, a 99-year-old woman who is an occupant on the land.
Investigations established that in 2004, Justice Andrew Khaukha bought five acres from Nakawungu Janet and Nakawunde Norah, who had inherited six acres from their father, the late Bulasio Ddamba. The two women retained one acre containing the burial grounds of Ddamba, his wife and Norah Nakawunde. Norah has since died, while Janet, now 99 years old and frail, remains alive.
Investigations further indicate that, over the years, Bulasio Ddamba’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren through his son Yusuf Kaye, including Nakanyike Margaret, Andrew Kaye and Aisha Nakawunde, have disputed or interfered with Khaukha’s possession of the land despite having no claim or interest. They have also continuously made allegations and complaints against him to various offices and published statements about him on social media.
