The Anti-Corruption Court has granted a cash bail of Shs5M to Mr. Jimmy Turyagyenda, 63, the former Head teacher of Ntare High School.
The Court, presided over by Principal Magistrate, His Worship Christopher Opit, granted him bail on Tuesday, 3rd November, 2026 after he presented substantial sureties and proof of transfer of funds to the IGG Asset Recovery Bank Account, being part of the amount he and his co-accused owe the Government.
Mr. Turyagyenda was jointly charged with Mr. Saul Rwampororo, the current Head teacher of Ntare High School and Ms. Peace Kebirungi, a former office typist of the same school by the IGG for abuse of office and causing financial loss of a total of Shs110,877,900 and abuse of office.
However, Mr. Turyagyenda pleaded not guilty to the charges. He will return to Court on 20th November, 2026.
Although Mr. Rwampororo is currently out on IGG bond, he was also required to appear before the IGG offices on Tuesday, 3rd November, 2026 to record a charge and caution statement. However, he failed to turn up.
Ms. Kebirungi appeared before the IGG but left before recording her charge and caution statement.
