Police in Mbale City are currently hunting for a man identified as Madoi Abdallah over allegations of murdering his girlfriend.

It was reported that on Thursday, 5th November, 2026, locals discovered the body of Nasula Nandutu, aged 27, at Lumumba Cell, Nabweya Ward, Northern City Division in Mbale City.

According to Muzafalu Nabende, the brother of the deceased, his sister disappeared on Saturday evening. Her workmate along Kumi Road in Mbale City informed him that she went with her husband home on Saturday evening after work.

He said they went to his home but did not find either the girl or the husband. It was on Thursday when they found the body in a bush near the husband’s home.

Nabende said they alerted police to come with the aim of using a canine dog to trace the suspect, but the dog failed. That is when they carried the body to the husband’s home and retaliated by cutting down all his crops and destroying the house.

Rogers Taitika, the Elgon Sub-region Police Spokesperson, confirmed the incident, saying the boyfriend is currently on the run and police are hunting him.

He cautioned married people to desist from taking such decisions as a last resort, but to seek help from court, religious and cultural leaders instead of taking the law into their own hands.
