Soroti district local government has received a donation of a double cabin pick-up from the ministry of health meant for covid-19 response.
The new double Cabin pick up comes at a time when the Ministry of Health has pronounced mass vaccination of the population in Teso and Lango sub regions.
President Yoweri Museveni last month handed over 282 double cabin pickups from COVID-19 donations to district local governments in the function that took place at Kololo Independence Grounds.
The Pick-up according to the soroti District Local government Communication officer, Abraham Ekwarau is the first donation from the ministry to the district and shall be used in the surveillance and also transporting the covid-19 vaccines to the communities as the region embarks on mass vaccination.
“Well aware that the Teso region where Soroti District falls will soon undergo the mass vaccination of communities, this brand new pick up is very vital now in transporting vaccines to the centers and also in response to alert cases, it will address the transport issue in the health department” Ekwaru said.
