Police of Elgon region Mbale is stuck with a body of a sex worker who was gang raped, killed and dumped at Busamaga forest in Mbale city.
The body was discovered in the Busamaga forest Northern City Division in Mbale city by locals who were going to work on the morning of 7th April 2022.
According to Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson, they suspect the deceased to be a 24 year old. He says the body was discovered undressed and strangled with her knickers and clothes dumped near it.
He adds that they suspect the girl was gang raped by a number of youths who later killed her for fear of being reported by the victim.
Taitika revealed that the body was taken to Mbale city mortuary and that police has started an investigation to know the identity of the deceased and those behind the crime.
Sam Wamono, a resident from Busamaga, urged police to arrest idle youths who smoke marijuana in town arguing that they should be the ones be behind these crimes.
