Michael Kibwika, the new Busia District RDC has said that there is a lot of corruption complaints on the RDCs desk which he said he is ready to pay attention to.
“I want to start by inviting the office of the IGG in charge of Bukedi region for a workshop with all departmental heads and accounting officers in the district so we get acquainted with the various ways of fighting corruption before I can take any action against anybody.” Kibwika said in an exclusive interview with this website.
He revealed that he had already communicated to the accounting officer of the district to avail him with policy documents, the procurement plan, recruitment plan, approved budget and approved work plans of the district to make his monitoring task easier.
“I have experience in this field. I have worked as a district chairperson, CAO and as a technical staff. This is enough experience to steer the district as designed by the government,” Kibwika said.
Kibwika also noted that service delivery in Busia hospital is impressive though patients complained of the facility lacking essential drugs.
“I was there today and patients were complaining that the facility has been out of drugs for a while. The drugs were however there, only that they were not being given to the patients!” he said adding that this was however addressed when he summoned the in charge.
He called for cooperation from all district stakeholders for quality service delivery to the people of Busia.
