Industrial City Division Senior Assistant Clerk, Robert Wambede has threatened to penalize undisciplined enforcement officers.
Wambende made the threats on Friday following the previous week’s confrontation between an enforcement officer and Manafwa district ICT officer after accusing him for trespassing into a city flower bed.
According to Wambende, if any person trespasses into a flower bed the enforcement officers have the right to arrest him or her then take the suspect to Mbale city court but not fight or extort money as alleged by members of the public.
He added that they are going to screen and get those undisciplined ones to face the law. He also urges people not to trespass into flower beds such that they avoid being arrested and keep the City clean.
Juma Muwembo and Samuel Wandulu, both residents of Mbale city, urged the city to open more crossing routes into busy places like central town such that people can use them rather than trespassing into flower beds.
