JUST IN! UPDF TO RECRUIT 10,000: Programme & What You Need To Qualify

The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) is recruiting 10,000 soldiers beginning this month.

 

In a press statement released by the Forces’ Mouth Piece, Brig. General, Felix Kulayigye today 13^th June, 2022, the recruitment shall be carried countrywide beginning 18^th June and ending on 4^th July, 2022.

 

Then General Recruitment targeting 8300 will start on 18^th June ending on 4^th July in various districts across the country.

 

Meanwhile, the Special recruitment targeting 100 Medical Personnel, 1000 drivers and mechanics and 600 Airforce shall be conducted between 30^th June to 1st July, 2022.

 

The Medical personnel and Airforce recruitment shall take place at Kololo Independence Grounds.

 

The recruitment for the 1000 drivers and Mechanics will be conducted at Gadhafi Barracks-Jinja.

 

According to Kulayigye, for one to be recruited he/she should possess the following;

 

A National Identity Card, must be in good health, should be between 18 – 25 years for general recruitment and 18 – 30 years for special recruitment.

 

The minimum qualification for regular recruits is O’ Level Certificate although S.6 is also accepted. However, for special recruitment, the minimum is Diploma and Degree in Medicine, Engineering, Chemistry, Education or Vocational skills.

 

The applicants MUST have supportive letters from their LCs and Gombolola Internal Security Officers (GISOs)
