The Namisindwa Resident District Commissioner, Fred Agery Bangu has suspended all current ongoing government construction works pending investigation.
Government of Uganda released over 5 billion shillings for construction projects like sub county head offices in newly created sub counties, boreholes and pit latrines at different government primary schools.
While speaking yesterday 30th June 2022 during the inspections of these sites in sub counties like Bumbo, Lwakhakha town council, Namabya , and Bumwoni, Bangu said that most of the sites have shoddy works while others have no construction materials yet contractors were given work five months back.
The RDC says that they are going to investigate the contractors who are supposed to undertake these works before allowing them to continue.
Bwayo Kitumbesi, the LC5 vice chairperson of Namisindwa district expressed his happiness with the RDC’s decision saying that this is going to curb corruption in the district.
