MBALE CITY
Chinese Investigators at Mbale Industrial Park have asked government to compensate them after the raging floods destroyed their products and machinery on Saturday night 30th July 2022.
This demand was made by Paulo Zhang, one of the investors at Mbale industrial park while meeting the Prime Minister, Robinah Nabanja during floods disaster assessment meeting held at Mbale city chambers yesterday 31st July 2022.
Paulo Zhang says that most of their products and machines were swept away as others destroyed by the floods.
He revealed that properties they lost in floods are worthy over Shs500 million and requested government to compensate them.
Zhang also says that if government compensates them with Shs2 billion, they will be able to repair their factories and recover lost capital.
The Prime Minister apologized for what happened and promised to get back to the investors soon after sharing their concerns with the President and other cabinet members on Monday, today 1st August 2022.
