A 65 year old man was locked up in a public toilet for almost three hours after failing to pay shillings 300 to the attendant. The man, Aspata Mugweri jumped off a boda boda along Kaliro road and rushed to the nearby toilet claiming he wanted to make a long call since he had developed some stomach problems.
Mugweri who was smartly dressed in a coat and a neck tie was given some piece of toilet paper by one of the toilet attendants before entering one of the rooms. However the toilet attendant only indentified as Peter was shocked when Mugweri returned back only to inform him that he was coming back
to clear the fee since he was rushing to the nearby Centenary bank to pick some money.
The toilet attendant simply pushed him back to the toilet before closing it from outside and promised not to open it until he clears the money he was demanding him.
A group of people who included businesswomen who operate along the old Kaliro road later gathered outside the public toilet and condemned the action taken by the toilet attendant. It was then that one of the businesswomen offered shillings 400 to the toilet attendant who opened the door. The old man came out sweating profusely and in total shame.
