Bukedea Christian High School Teachers Flee as Students Wage Violent Strike

Bukedea: Students in Bukedea Christian high school in Bukedea district today’s morning, 22nd June, 222 waged a strike, chasing out all the school teachers and the school head teacher demanding to be given proper accountability for the school fees they pay.

The strike erupted at around 10am 22nd, June 2022 until 3pm when the police intervened.

According to the angry students, they have spent two weeks without attending classes yet they have been asked by the school administration to clear all the school fees.

“We need our money back, we cannot be at school without learning, no proper meals both head teacher and teachers just sit at school”, said Angry learners.

Simon Peter Opus, the school head teacher who ended up running out of school after students became unruly, said the cause of the strike was unclear.

He says he found teachers running away from school and being chased by students.

“Iam not aware of the cause of the strike, students started shouting and beating teachers, I had to run away, my property got missing now iam missing my hoes, smart phone among others”, said Opus.

Charles Denaya, the Commander operation wealth creation Bukedea upon curbing the situation urged students to be calm as police intervene the matter.

Bukedea Christian high school is privately owned in bukedea district.
