COVID-19 29th June UPDATE

The Ministry of Health has today confirmed 11 new Covid-19 cases.

 

According to the Ministry’s official press release, these cases were from 2,330 samples tested yesterday, 28th June 2020. Four (4) of the cases are among 1,784 samples tested from borders while 7 are among 546 samples of alerts and contacts.

 

All confirmed cases are Ugandans bringing the total number of cases in Uganda to 870.

 

A total of 34 foreign truck drivers (26) Kenyans, 5 Tanzanians, 1 Burundian, 1 Eritrean and 1 Somali tested positive and were handed over to their respective countries.

 

BREAKDOWN OF CONFIRMED CASES

 

  1. Four (4) of the confirmed cases are truck drivers: 3 arrived from Kenya and 1 from South Sudan via Elegu border.
  2. Seven (7) are from alerts and contacts to previously confirmed cases. Out of the 7, six (6) are from Tororo district whereas the other 1 is from Koboko.
