Entebbe Airport in Morning Shutdown As It Conducts Emergency Drills

Entebbe International Airport has conducted emergency drills this morning, Friday 4th November, 2022.


This was revealed in a press statement released by Uganda Civil Aviation Authority dated 4th November, 2022.


According to the statement, the full emergency exercise is to test the readiness of the Airport to respond to unforeseen situations.


“Residents of Kampala, Entebbe and surrounding areas are likely to see smoke, movement of ambulances with blazing sirens to and from Entebbe as part of the exercise,” the statement warns the public and passengers adding that the public should not get alarmed.


The exercise is a mandatory requirement for international airports of countries that are contracting member states of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).


These Airports are required to test on-scene co-ordination between airports, airlines and emergency responders.
