Local council one chairpersons from Manafwa and Namisindwa districts have threatened not to vote NRM government in the coming general elections unless it fulfills its pledge of availing them with bicycles.
They revealed this on Sunday 20th December while having their LCI chairperson’s end of year party meeting at Nabitsikhi church of Uganda in Namisindwa district.
Apollo Masiba, the LCI chairperson of Buwasibe village in Nabitsikhi sub county Namisidwa district said it was now five years since government promised to avail them with bicycles.
He argued that not having means of transport is affecting them in terms of delivering services to people since it is difficult to move from one place to the other.
Samson Kituyi and Peter Muyekho both LCI’s from Manafwa district also say that since NRM village and Sub County chairpersons were given motorcycles, government should also consider them.
They also gave government an ultimatum of this month to fulfill the promise or the NRM government forgets their votes.
John Musila, the LCV chairperson of Manafwa district also the current Bubulo East MP aspirant on independent ticket in Namisindwa district who was the guest of honor at the function said that government of Uganda under ministry of local government released billions of money to purchase their bicycles but money was embezzled.
Musila urged the LCI’s to be calm saying that government through ministry of local government is in the process of buying for them bicycles.
