Unknown Karamojong cattle rustlers armed with arrows, spears, pangas and guns on Wednesday 8th April 2021 raided different homes in Ngenge Sub County in Bukwo district and took away animals like goats, sheep, cows and donkeys totaling to over 100.

Now the residents are expressing their fears over continue cattle rustling by Karamojong warriors.

Stephen Seka, one of the affected residents said that this is the third time this year alone that Karamojong have raided the area and gone away with their animals.

He said that 20 people had been gunned down by the same warriors for trying to defend their animals.

He added that these Karamojong come with guns making it hard for locals to raise alarm for help from neighbors or defend themselves at night.

Jacob Cheptoris, the LCIII councilor says that government should replace police road blocks with UPDF because some of them fear to respond if called by locals to fight the warriors.

However by press time police had not yet intervened into the matter and our efforts to get a comment from the RDC were fruitless as his known telephone number was switched off.
