The Kibuku district council chairperson elect, Hajji Muhammad Nakeba has finally constituted a robust district executive committee to set a stage for the transition of the district during his five-year tenure.

This was during the second council sitting today which almost flopped when councilors demanded that the CAO clears their outstanding allowances for the previous sitting before the council proceeds.

After reaching consensus, the honorable councilors then adopted the Order Paper.

When he got to the lectern, Nakeba, who was sweating profusely first apologized for the delay in announcing his executive adding that it had not been an easy task for him, to come up with names of the appointees due to multiple calls across the district lobbying for the few positions.

After minutes of silence, Nakeba announced Amina Namusungu councilor representing Kasasira Sub County and Town Council as his Vice chairperson and Secretary Community Based Services.

Followed by Hon. Augustine Majanga of Bulangira Sub County who was appointed Secretary for Health and Education.

Then Bashir Nangejje of Kibuku Town Council took secretary for production and natural resources,

Finally, Hon Mubalama Christopher of Kadama Sub County was appointed secretary for Finance and administration as well as works and technical services.

All the five members appointed took oath as they pledged to work for the good of the district and the people who elected them.

Chairpersons and secretaries of the standing committees were also vetted and appointed.

During his key note address, quoting an American scholar Paustin Rudoff, who once said ‘’when leaders serve their interest first against community interest then the community will die’’, Nakeba appealed to every kibuku loving person to forget the past, politicking and put aside all the differences and work together for the good of the people.

He pledged to usher in good working environment and appraisals amongst the technical team which is free from harassment, tribalism and discrimination that had dogged the outgoing regime.

‘’Honorable Speaker Sir, Kibuku is torn apart on basis of cultural belonging, political, and religious affiliations, selfish interests. These boundaries are a hindrance to better service delivery. It’s important to note that together we win and divided we fall,” Nakeba counseled.

Nakeba says during his tenure he will reclaim the lost glory of the district, by restoring hope among the civil servants, improve on education, health, road infrastructure and fight graft.

The CAO, Mr.  Richard Mugolo requested the chairperson to reshuffle non performing officers saying they should work aiming at raising local revenue collection for them to be able to agitate for hefty allowances.

RDC Kibuku, Kikomeko Mwanamoiza asked the councilors to continue encouraging locals to observe the SOPs during burials to curb the likely spread of the virus which has claimed the lives of 9 people in the district.
