Lydia Wanyoto, the NRM Mbale City Woman Member of Parliament flag bearer has expressed her disappointment with her Party’s headquarters failure to adequately facilitate their campaigns.
Speaking in a meeting called by Minister Daudi Migereko on Monday 23rd November 2020, Wanyoto said the current campaigns are too expensive for them to manage without adequate facilitation by the Party.
In an off cuff remark, Wanyoto said she sometimes gets tempted to pull out of the race because the expenses are very high and yet they are not getting help from the Party headquarters.
She was echoing a similar position held by all the NRM flag bearers that attended the meeting.
The candidates who attended the meeting included: Lydia Wanyoto, of Mbale City MP, Seth Wambedde, for Northern City Division, and John Wambogo, a candidate for Industrial Division.
The for instance told Daudi Migereko, a member of the Central Executive Committee, that they cannot afford radio talk shows.
Lydia Wanyoto, said that all the radios are expensive for NRM, and that even the interviews with the Radio Practitioners are costly.
She further threatened to drop out of the race if their party turns oblivious to her query.
However, Migereko advised the candidates to embrace the door to door campaigns.
He also argued that not all candidates are orators and therefore suggested that talk shows must be strictly for the good public speakers.
