The Evangelical Orthodox Catholic Church in Uganda has ordained for church ministers to Diaconate.
The Four deacons ordained include: Rev DN. Cyprian Draleke of Moyo, Richard Kabagambe of Kiryandongo, Joviira Mugoda of Kibuku and Sylevanus Sunday of Kyenjonjo.
While ordaining the deacons on Saturday 8th May, 2021, the Bishop of the Evangelical Orthodox Church in Uganda His Lordship Rt. Rev. Jacinto Kibuuka called upon the deacons to serve everyone without discriminating.
Bishop Kibuuka said the new set of deacons are going to be the pillars of the faith in the country and from the regions they come from.
“You are to be the light in the darkness. You are going to be our pillars in those regions. You are our new set of deacons of the Evangelical Orthodox Catholic Church in Uganda,” Bishop Kibuuka said.
The Bishop on the other hand revealed that, “Some of you will remain permanent deacons while some will be elevated to the priesthood in due course.”
He also reminded Christians that the Covid-19 exists and it kills and sympathizes with those who have lost their loved one.
“We can, however, be responsible and prevent it by following the guidelines put in place by the ministry of health and world health organization,” the soft spoken Bishop said.
He also emphasized that the duty to ensure peace is not only a preserve of the security organs including the police and army but rather every citizen of Uganda.
The man of God asked security organs to also exercise restraint in the manner they handle volatile situations.
