Regional Coordinator for People Power Busoga Region, has declared his intentions to contest for Mayor Iganga Municipality.
Bamu Lulenzi popular for his relentless fight against corruption amongst public officials has openly declared to contest for the seat on a people power ticket saying now is the time to have change from old timers to youths.
To prove that he is serious, Lulenzi has bought a new Mark 2 vehicle that he said will enable him traverse the constituency seeking support from the locals.
Lulenzi who commands majority support amongst youths and women said he believes in case elections were to be held today he would emerge victorious with a 99 percent margin.
“People are just yearning for change and are tired of these leaders who simply sit back waiting for salaries and allowances at the end of the month,” he said.
Many of his critics always ridiculed him as being a poor person who cannot afford a car or house yet he claimed to be contesting for the position of mayor.
Lulenzi who also serves as the Councilor for Nakavule Ward in Iganga Municipality believes he is the right choice having held several leadership positions before.
Yazid Yolisigira, an ardent supporter of Lulenzi said he decided to canvass support for him after discovering that he is still young, energetic and has the ability to traverse the entire constituency seeking views of the electorates in case he is elected mayor.
The four wheel drive mark 2 vehicle still in good mechanical condition has a fully equipped air conditioner.
Lulenzi is always sighted cruising around the town waving to the people who cheer him whenever he passes.
Lulenzi is to battle the incumbent mayor David Balaba, Ezra Gesa an NRM mobilizer, Alex Kiwanuka of Democratic Party and many others.
