RDC Parks All Government Vehicles to Handle Covid-19 Emergencies

The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Katakwi district in eastern Uganda has ordered government vehicles to be parked for quick response to covid-19 emergencies.

John Stephen Ekoom, gave the order on Monday 7th June 2021 during the covid-19 taskforce meeting which was held at the Katakwi district headquarters.

 

Ekoom said government vehicles in the district must to be parked at the Katakwi General Hospital starting yesterday 8th June 2021 so as to help in times of emergencies during these 42 days of lockdown.

 

The President of the Republic of Uganda, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni announced the 42 days of lockdown after the country registered a in a surge in infections and deaths.

 

Ekoom added that, the motor vehicles that will be parked will be managed by the district taskforce which is headed by the Resident District Commissioner.

 

Meanwhile during the meeting, the Chief Administrative Officer Katakwi District Local Government, Alia Seraphine, advised public servants most especially medical workers and teachers to speedily go for vaccination against the horror covid19.

 

“This will reduce the rapid spread of the dangerous virus which has claimed a number of lives in the world,” Seraphine said.

 

Ekoom however, warned public servants most especially stand-by drivers to avoid carrying passengers pretending to be emergencies as this will lead to severe penalties.
